Blogging for Insurance Leads

April 26, 2009

Blogging about your Insurance Business will generate insurance leads and is one of the best ways of generating high quality traffic to your main agent website.  Blogging has several distinct properties that will help with your main sites SEO.

1.You can place highly relevant keyword anchored text links pointing directly back to your main website.
2.Blog posts usually get indexed by the search engines very quickly. (One of the tools I will be sharing with you later will get this done extremely fast.)
3.You can write longer keyword rich content that will get indexed for all sorts of other terms – so more people will find you.
4.The way posts are made in reverse chronological order shows visitors the newest, most relevant content.

The same on page SEO principals need to be applied to your blogs.

Ideally there are seven places that need to have the keywords that you are using.
1.Your URL or web address.
2.The Page Title
3.The Page Description
4.The Body Title or Header
5.In the first ten words of the body (also done in bold text)
6.In the descriptive tags for any pictures
7.Somewhere in the last three sentences of the body (also underlined)

Placing highly relevant keyword anchored text links:
In the body of your posts you can place backling over words pointing back to your main site.  For example:  There are many reasons to get affordable health insurance.  If you take a look at the page that this link goes to, it has more examples of anchored text backlinking.

If you plan to do more than one blog, (which I highly recommend) do not put all of your blogs on the same service, the search engines like variety.  Here are some of the best places to put blogs:

WordPress.com
Blogger.com
LiveJournal.com

I would suggest using WordPress first for the reason that it is the most user friendly and has the most variety.
Thanks for stopping by my insurance leads blog.

Cheers
Mac
