One year ago I started a Insurance Leads blog for new health insurance agents that I started writing as a journal of my experiences transitioning from a salaried job to a commissioned insurance agent. I wrote about many of the bumps in the road that I hit and how I managed to get past them and what I learned from the experience. I never realized how many people would find my blog and actually respond to what I had written.
From the questions I was getting asked , I found that the two biggest concerns that new agents had were getting quality leads and then being able to close sales. Everything I knew about closing sales came directly from Randy Mc Arthur, a more experienced agent who has mentored me for the last two years. He took me under his wing after seeing how much time and effort I was putting into becoming successful in the business.
He pointed out to me that I had a talent when it came to internet type things, so we started applying some of the things he taught me to online marketing, which I have the knack for, and while we found many things to be totally ineffective for our line of business (some from being overly expensive, others just didn’t fit this industry) we did come up with several tools that are very cost effective and productive for health insurance sales.
I plan to introduce some of these tools and the methods of using them which have worked the best for us. When we looked at all of the different tools we currently use, we wanted to pick out the ones that were the least time consuming and budget friendly, because as an agent these are the resources that we have the least of, time and marketing money.
I also wanted internet tools that worked well as a system together because a good as one of these tools might be on their own, their ability is multiplied greatly when used together. These tools generally fall into three categories:
Communications and Productivity: Tools that let you effectively communicate with potential and current customers and keep track of your business.
SEO: Search Engine Optimization tools that help your website rank in the SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages) for keyword terms. This produces organic traffic for you website to help you generate your own leads.
Promotion: Tools that socially promote your website and/or services outside of SEO and generates referral traffic.
These internet tools, when used together, will help you develop a substantial online presence where you can better reach your target audience and the effectively communicate with them. Combined properly with the sales principles that Randy is sharing with you, you will have a powerful base of knowledge that will really help you with your sales career.
Thanks for visiting my insurance leads blog.
Cheers
